Sous Vide Cooking: An Easy Alternative With Amazing Results + Sous Vide Pork Chops!

I have always had a passion for cooking, but lately I can’t seem to find  the time to really put together a delicious healthy meal.  Luckily, I recently came across sous vide cooking and fell in love! It’s an easy way to prepare delicious, healthy meals without all the fuss!  Sous vide is the perfect cooking style for all of us out there that don’t particularly enjoy like standing over a pan or that lack the time to prepare the meals they really desire.

I recently made Sous Vide pork chops, which were to die for! I love how easy it was and that dinner came together with little effort.  I love that I was able to start them and walk away until just before dinner time.

Preheat a sous vide cooker to the desired final temperature, which will depend on how well done you like your meat. I prefer pork to be well done so I set mine to 160°F and let it cook for about 3-3.5 hours. If you prefer your meat to be medium-well you will want to set it at 150°F for up to 4 hours.  

Season your pork chops ( about 1.5″ thick) and place in a sous vide bag along with any extras you may want to add in for flavor. (I added in salt, pepper, rosemary, shallots, garlic and thyme to mine)  You’ll want to ensure that it’s evenly distributed. Once done, vacuum seal the bag (or use the displacement method) and place in the water bath for the recommended time.

Once it’s cooked, You can sear the edges for a nice finished look. This will add a nice color to your meat as well as a crisp exterior.

Pair it with your favorite sides, such as corn, broccoli, and mashed potatoes. You can even use the drippings from the meat to make a pan sauce to either top the potatoes or the chops.

Don’t limit yourself! You could even add cut potatoes and carrots in with the chops for a delicious meal all in one bag. There’s tons of recipes and tons  of guides out there to help you along your sous vide journey.
