So summer is just around the corner, and you haven’t got anything planned, but you want to have a great time with your family – what to do?!

Well there’s no need to worry, here are some ideas that you can do as a family and have a wonderful summer together.

Have a picnic

Picnics are a wonderful way to spend some quality time with your family. It’s also a great way to save up on money because other than the food and drinks, you won’t need to spend a penny. If you plan on going big and inviting the Aunties, Uncles, and Grandparents too, ask them all to bring an item each.

Make a day of it, bring a ball or a frisbee, or whatever you like to play with, and have an awesome day out with your family and friends.

Learn magic tricks

Get creative and come up with some summertime boredom busting ideas. What says fun more than learning magic? Be a witch or wizard for the day, and tell your kids you have come to teach them the ways of the magic world. Get food coloring and glitter, and possibly some sheets so you can protect anything of value! Kids like to get messy and play dress up, so this should go down a treat!

Get in the water

Now, this doesn’t just mean going to the local pool for a swim. Take a trip down to your nearest beach, or even lake! Not only is swimming fun, but it’s a great all over body exercise too. Roast some good food on the bbq and enjoy a chilled out evening with everyone.

Water doesn’t just involve swimming though, why not get the hose and some balloons on the go and have a water fight with you little ones?

Have a bonfire

It really is very simple, all you need is some wood and a fire pit, or wherever you can hold a safe fire. Call all your friends over and cook some yummy burgers and hot dogs, and when the sun starts to go down, you can get out the marshmallows and make the most amazing looking s’mores you’ve ever made. Just make sure you leave some for the kids!

Movies

Have a movie night (and day!) You don’t just have to stick to one film. If the weather isn’t on your side, then get the chips, chocolate, and ice cream out and spend the day watching your favorite films together as a family. Whether you prefer some comedy, or a little scare here and there, let everyone choose one film each so you get a whole mix.

Host a family game night

Who said board games were old fashioned? They are so much fun to do as a family, and that’s when you get to see each other’s true competitive side. If your kids do enjoy the electronic side of things, get friends to bring over extra controllers, and then you can all join in with the game, (or sit back and watch the boys be boys…)
