“A Woman Overwhelmed” is a phrase with which many women can relate. But what would happen if we could see the insanity in our pace and embrace our overwhelming God?
There is a reason they say that a woman’s work is never done— because it isn’t! As women, we often are overwhelmed by the demands and circumstances of life, resulting in stress, fear, worry, impatience, fatigue, frustration, and even depression. The truth is that we were created to be overwhelmed . . . not by life but by God! When we learn to be overwhelmed by God, the fruit in our lives goes from rotten to fragrant—filling our days with peace, hope, love, and joy.
It’s not often I pick up a book and immediately relate to it as if the author is speaking directly to/about me. This book really hit the spot for me. I’m the one that has to have control and stay in control- mainly out of fear someone else can’t do it like I do. I reload the dishwasher, rewash clothing, refold laundry, double check shopping lists, etc. You name it- I’ve probably done it. It can be stressful and very overwhelming. This book really opened my eyes to some of the little things I do that I need to let go of. It allowed me to look in the mirror and tell myself that it’s okay if the cookies aren’t made today and that it’s okay if I take some me time.. Me time.. yeah I had totally forgotten what that was all about! This is a motivating, eye opening read that I highly recommend!
